Review – SOSU by Suzanne Jackson Dripping Gold Tan

Hey Everyone…

Whenever I want to try a new product I always find it hard to get a detailed review, so I thought I would write this post for anyone who is wanting to try SOSU by Suzanne Jackson Dripping Gold Tan! So, after rigorous testing here is how I got on…

I should probably start off with explaining how I prep my skin for tanning. Good prep is 100% necessary for a flawless long lasting tan! In the week coming up to my tanning I exfoliate in the shower everyday and apply moisturiser after every shower to ensure my skin is smooth and hydrated. I would shave the day before I apply tan. On the day of application I would not exfoliate in the shower or apply any moisturiser or deodorant, just use normal non creamy shower gel and wash it off thoroughly. Before I begin the application I apply moisturiser to my dry areas (elbows, knees, wrists and backs of ankles).

I used the tanning mousse in shade dark and the SOSU tanning mitt to apply it (I have applied it with alternative brand mitts before and I found it didn’t blend as well as it does when using the SOSU mitt). It was really easy to apply and blended nicely. In general I find mousse a lot easier to apply than liquid tans. It also applied evenly to my face and hands and didn’t cling to any of my dry patches. There was no odour from the tan, maybe just a mild tropical scent. It dried really quick and there was no tacky residue so I could get dressed quickly after application.

Before
After application

I applied the tan in the morning, so I went out about my day and allowed the tan to develop over 8 hours. Over the 8 hours there was no transfer of the tan to my clothes and no smell off the tan, after the 8 hours I thought there was tan smell off it but that could have been because I no deodorant on all day!

The tan fully developed after 8 hours
After shower

I loved the tan after the shower! I thought it was super glowy and natural looking. It also continued to develop over the next 12 hours and got even darker which I was delighted about because I love a dark tan (I completely forgot to take a photo of the tan after it had developed further following the shower because I a dope!)

The day after application (Unfortunately I have really dry knees and tan just clings to them, I’m still trying to perfect tan application to this area, If you have any tips on applying tan to your knees I would love to hear them in the comments below!)
Two days after application

My tan faded so nicely, it didn’t morph into that horrible tiger bread patchiness, it has a really even fade and continues to have a natural look until it’s completely gone.

Overall I loved Dripping Gold tan! I thought it was a lot better than alternative brands, it was so simple to apply, didn’t have the distinct tan smell, didn’t transfer to my clothes, looked unreal after application, and lasted and faded so so well. It is priced at €21.95, which is a bit more expensive than other brands of tan, but you get about 4 full applications from a bottle making it €5.49 per full body tan (a lot cheaper than a spray tan), I think it is definitely worth it for a flawless tan every time! You can shop the tan here.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments below if you have tried Dripping Gold and what you thought of it.

Until next time,

Alana x
